A lady who was being held hostage in Florida has managed to escape through the aid of Pizza Hut’s smartphone app.

Ethan Nickerson began arguing with his girlfriend and threathened her with a large knife. He briefly gave the hostage her phone so she could order some food using an app. Cleverly she put the message ‘Please help, Get 911 to me’ in the comments section of the order.

Fortunately she was a frequent customer of the particular pizza hut and employees believe that it most likely wasn’t a prank. They contacted police who intervened. Ethan Nickerson has been charged.
