Latest technologies
VAIO S Series provides all the latest technologies needed for full mobile computing. Overall high performance is assured with the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i7 Processor*, as well as a Dynamic Hybrid Graphics System that uses two graphics processors to best suit the application being run — using either NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 640M LE GPU 2 GB of video memory* or integrated Intel® HD Graphics 4000*. SSD* provides high-speed data storage and retrieval.
Slot-in optical drive
The slot-in optical drive not only protects the beauty of the full flat design but also increases the rigidity of the frame. It strengthens the body while also eliminating the risk of the loading tray becoming bent.

4th generation HDD shock protection
The newest shock protection technologies for the hard disk drive utilise a multi-axis G sensor to detect how the PC is moving in order to protect the drive if the PC falls or is dropped.
Rapid Wake + Eco*
The Rapid Wake + Eco feature allows you to wake up your notebook from sleep mode and resume use in two seconds or less. It also saves your data automatically when the PC is put to sleep, so there is no need to worry about data loss. Rapid Wake + Eco is also energy efficient and allows VAIO S Series notebook to retain battery power for up to 10 days. Simply close the lid or press the power button to put the notebook to sleep, then open the lid when you're ready to use it again.
*Battery life in sleep mode varies depending on configuration and operating conditions, such as the size of installed system memory, remaining battery capacity, and USB charging settings.
Anytime fast USB* charging
The USB charging feature allows you to rapidly recharge other devices from your notebook. Simply connect the device you want to recharge to the USB charging port. You can charge a device even when the notebook is turned off or is in Sleep mode and not connected to the AC mains. This feature is particularly useful if your smartphone or portable audio player suddenly runs out of battery power and you do not have easy access to a mains power outlet.
Superb sound quality
Sony's ”xLOUD” technology boosts the volume on the notebook's built-in speakers, while Sony's "Clear Phase" technology modifies sound waves to produce a clearer, more natural sound. Connectivity with speed and compatibility
It's easy to integrate VAIO S Series into a wide range of environments. Bluetooth® offers wireless connection of a Bluetooth mouse or headphones, as well as other Bluetooth-enabled optional accessories. You can watch Full HD content on HDTVs via HDMI™ output connector. Both Memory Stick and SD Card devices are supported, and Two USB 3.0 ports allow faster-than-ever data transfer.
Backlit keyboard
The keyboard automatically lights up when used in dark places, making it easier to type in dimly lit rooms such as during your flight or in a conference room. The ambient light sensor even adjusts the screen brightness according to how much ambient light there is. 15.5" models are also equipped with a numeric keypad to enable faster input of numbers for spreadsheets.
Large touchpad with multi-gesture control
VAIO S Series features a large touchpad that allows you to take full advantage of the versatile gesture control function. The touchpad also allows scrolling and right clicking, enabling you to make use of more advanced PC functionality without having to use a mouse.
HD web camera powered by “Exmor for PC”
The built-in high-definition camera is based on Exmor imaging technology. The camera produces superb high-quality video images for video-chat and teleconferencing. You can also use it to take photos which you can send by e-mail or upload to your blog.
